Summary: The Research Assistant is responsible for assisting and implementing clinical research under the direction of the Principal Investigator and the Research Coordinators in accordance with good clinical practice.

Purpose: To ensure that the integrity of NANI Research is held to its highest and working to promote a safe and productive environment for the subjects involved in research studies throughout the NANI Organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Review electronic medical/health records for study eligibility and recruitment

· Prescreen subjects and determine if they meet the qualifications of the study

· Manage all aspects of registry trials

· Perform literature searches and synthesize literature

· Review and understand multiple study protocols

· Enter clinical research data into appropriate database and fields (i.e., EDC RAVE, Clinical Conductor, etc.).

· Serve as back up for CRCs to keep all required Regulatory Binders updated as needed for the sites.

· Monitor clinical trials and document activities to ensure compliance of procedures and protocols.

· Prepare correspondence, documentation, or presentation materials on findings.

· Collect, process, and ship laboratory samples according to the study laboratory manual.

· Maintain supplies and exam rooms according to quality control processes.

· Interview and schedule patients by phone and in person.

· Conduct spirometry, capillary, and ECG tests, as well as obtain vital signs and basic medical information/history.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree required in science, psychology or related field; or an additional 4 years relevant research experience in lieu of a degree

· Prior experience in research preferred

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, required

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently

· Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently

· Enjoy interacting with a diverse group of people with an ability to listen and provide empathy when needed
