Deliver the future of insurance through software and architecture

Liberty Mutual is looking to hire an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to our team of Senior Solutions Architects.  Leveraging deep technical knowledge, strong interpersonal skills, and strategic business acumen you will lead us as we deliver software to bring peace of mind in our client's times of need.

Ideally, you are as comfortable in front of the IDE, as you are on the whiteboard (or Lucid Charts).  Not only are you tuned into industry trends, but you are part of the movement, with a history of delivering cloud native solutions.  A one-hundred-year-old P&C insurer comes with its share of technical debt, monoliths, mainframes, and redundant solutions.  Our job is to rearchitect these solutions into resilient distributed applications running natively in the cloud - and untangling this is going to be a challenge.  Do you like challenges?

About the role:

  • Remains hands-on with architecture and engineering activities, such as implementing POCs that demonstrate key components of technical strategies
  • Works with engineering corps to decompose strategy into team's backlogs
  • Consults with team to help overcome any emergent design decisions they encounter
  • Acknowledged as expert in field by colleagues and customers.
  • Mentors staff to develop technical architecture capabilities. Shares expertise ensuring that teams are continuously improving and learning together to meet current and future engineering and architecture needs.
  • Contributes engineering knowledge and expertise across the organization (and industry) through networks, events, and communities of practice.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge software engineering, software architecture, and incremental delivery as typically acquired through a Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 12-15+ years of related experience.
  • Extensive experience building software leveraging Java, JavaScript, .NET, Python, or equivalent languages
  • Demonstrable expertise in building applications on cloud native platforms
  • Strong influencing and consensus building skills, and the adaptability to respond to change quickly.
  • Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly
