The U.S Department of Labor (DOL) promotes the welfare of the wage earners, job seekers and retirees of the United States. The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM) provides the infrastructure and support that enables DOL to perform its mission. The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is a customer service organization dedicated to providing information DOL's key technology solutions and leadership. This position participates in one or more essential components of DOL's information technology program.

Qualifications


Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.


Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-09, in the Federal Service.


Specialized Experience may be noted as at least 1 of the following:



  • Demonstrated experience with common service desk and IT security procedures, practices, and service management tools to provide high quality virtual and in-person IT support.

  • Subject matter expert with triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex IT software and hardware issues, and providing answers to technical questions.

  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products such as desktop/mobile operating systems, desktop/mobile software on devices, and peripherals.

  • Experience creating, reviewing, and maintaining content for standard operating procedures, job-aids, knowledge base articles and services in a self-service web portal.

  • Proficiency evaluating and recommending the adoption of new or enhanced approaches to delivering high quality IT service desk services.


Education


Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions


Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or L.L.M if related
