The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) organization is seeking a proactive Process Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join the team in Portland, OR.

Successful candidates will work in a fast paced environment, working both independently and as part of team to develop and deploy capabilities that support Program start-up and sustaining activities. Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to resolve cross-functional issues, and the ability to "see the big picture" are ideal.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the analysis of engineering design, manufacturing and product support requirements and applies standard analysis methods to improve engineering and manufacturing processes throughout the value stream.
  • Assists in the implementation of program transition plans to improve existing processes and optimize the effective application of new tool technology.
  • Utilizes a general understanding of product design and build processes and applies basic principles of Lean Product Development, Theory of Constraints and Critical Chain Project Management to construct program planning models simulating the multi-functional dependencies of the product development lifecycle.
  • Provides basic technical integration analysis to engineering design teams through the use of virtual visualization and simulation tools.
  • Performs routine analysis of specific product configurations and requirements for functional, physical, build and support integration status.
  • Works under general supervision.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Portland, OR

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher experience in an engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering classification

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering classification
  • Material processing related to material hardness, heat treat, and finish of metals
  • STRONG project management skills and experience
  • Communication skills at all levels of leadership
  • Be able to get team members to work together using influence skills
  • Think large scale and sustainable (goal is not just to fix the problem today, but also to make sure the problem doesn't come back)
  • Be open to new ideas and be able to challenge team to think differently

Typical Education/Experience:
(Associate)

Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification.

(Experienced)

Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.

Summary pay range for Associate Level : $78,200 - $105,800
