  • The CTR Reporting Department is responsible for filing Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) with FinCEN and maintains the Monetary Instrument Log in accordance with the Bank Secrecy Act. A CTR is required to be filed with each deposit, withdrawal, exchange of currency, or other payment/transfer which involves one or more transactions of currency in excess of $10,000.
  • Complete, accurate, and timely reporting are the critical elements to maintain compliance.
  • The department is additionally responsible for fulfilling the Anti-Money Laundering/Bank Secrecy Act requirements through identification and reporting of potentially suspicious activity on behalf of U.S. Bank.
  • The CTR Exemptions team is responsible for conducting reviews of U.S. Bank business customers who are eligible to be exempt from CTR Reporting requirements, in accordance with FinCEN regulation.
  • Tasks include the collection of required KYC documentation, the performance of due diligence reviews, and the completion and monitoring of daily reports.
  • A strong partnership with the Business Lines(s) is necessary to ensure the timely completion of annual CTR Exemption reviews.
  • Additionally, the position is responsible for assisting in the daily production of Canadian Electronic Funds Transfer Reports for submission to the Canadian regulator, FINTRAC.
  • The candidate should be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • The position requires the ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication with the business lines and management is necessary.
  • Assists in the implementation of an effective risk management framework.
  • Monitors systems, databases, information, processes or procedures.
  • Identifies and escalates matters requiring attention to the appropriate area.
  • Performs work on projects and initiatives, and assists in the assessment and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Coordinates the collection and/or compilation of data, and compiles and provides reports.
  • May assist in report development and analyzing data.
  • Provides guidance, support and recommendations to Lines of Business and assists in the implementation of Risk/Audit/Compliance initiatives.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typically more than one year of applicable experience
  • Intermediate understanding of the business line's operations, products/services, systems and associated risks/controls
  • Intermediate understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • Ability to research and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Effective presentation and relationship building skills
  • Strong PC skills, particularly word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
