As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
Contribute to manufacturing automation using Power BI, Process Data Historians, and Workflow technology.
Manufacturing Systems Engineer will be responsible for design, creation, prioritization development, deployment and support of system automations used in 3M application environment.
This position requires the ability to work within cross-functional teams from different businesses.Responsibilities:
Work with the end users to understand their needs in a manufacturing automation area.
Translate end user needs into user requirements and prioritize work.
Act as the product owner for these requirements and complete the development request documentation.
Work with end users to deploy and test developed applications.
Monitor development defects that are found in testing and/or production. Provide input to drive process improvements as necessary.
Provide process training as needed to technical resources.
Provide application support for escalated trouble tickets.
Assist in assessment of development needs in the team.
Provide and assist technical resources in providing necessary documentation in every part of the software development process.
Contribute to data automation strategy roadmap.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years of manufacturing systems, IT, data engineering, or process/manufacturing engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Familiarity with Power BI, Wonderware, and Savigent Workflow software.
Familiarity with SQL Databases and scripting.
Intermediate Experience with C# and SQL programming languages.
Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Experience with SCADA systems.
Experience working in collaborative/distributed software development teams.
Travel:
May include up to 5% domestic/international
