Recruiter

Elevate Your Career Options. Merchants Bonding Company is seeking candidates for a Recruiter on our Human Resources team in our West Des Moines location. The key focuses of this role are finding creative ways to attract potential candidates, source & recruit diverse candidates, interview, and fill open positions to meet department staffing needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Actively recruits for open positions and strategic locations to meet company expansion goals. Builds relationships within the industry to create pipeline for future hires.


• Partners with department hiring managers on competencies for the opening and supports efforts to build diverse teams. Develops a strong understanding of all positions within the company.


• Screens and selects candidates to be interviewed by hiring managers and department leaders. Leads the interview and selection process. Works with HR and the hiring team to onboard the new associate.


• Leads discussions on job offers, packages, and strategy to attract talent while maintaining our compensation structure.


• Works with VP of HR on compensation and communicates trends in compensation during the recruiting process.


• Researches and recommends best recruiting methods for finding candidates.


• Identifies best interviewing and selection process for Merchants and trains managers on appropriate and legal interviewing skills.


• Partners with department leaders on summer internships. Recruits, interviews, and hires interns in partnership with the department. Supports the intern program mission in hiring processes.


• Updates job descriptions for open roles to ensure efforts are focused on the job needs.


• Maintains robust campus relations program as needed to ensure a steady pool of qualified professional associates. Works with other college groups and industry groups to attract potential candidates.


• Plans and coordinates recruiting events, career fairs, campus visits and candidate visits to the company's offices.


• Keeps a pulse on state and national laws requirements relating to job postings and hiring. Reacts appropriately to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline or equivalent work experience plus 5 years of experience in Human Resources. PHR/CP certification preferred.


• Generalist knowledge of human resource disciplines.


• Ability to work proactively and efficiently, problem solve, and think creatively.


• Above average communication (written and oral), customer service orientation, multi-tasking, time management, relationship building, and confidentiality.
