Position Description

Origis Energy is looking for an experienced Director of Business Development to join our team. This person will join an agile, extremely motivated team with the main objective of driving growth and project successes in clean hydrogen. Experience with industrial gas or fuel customer negotiations, comfort and experience with being the face of the company at customer meetings with an enthusiasm to build customer solutions, a deep knowledge of the specialty gas industry, and technical expertise are critical.

The Director of Business Development reports directly to the Clean Hydrogen Business Unit Manager and is a regular, full-time position, and is eligible for our generous employee benefits package, including employer paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, and other great benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen several industrial gas, chemical, steel, ammonia, and other hydrogen client relationships
  • Have a defined area of responsibility covering multiple States
  • Prepare RFP and bi-lateral proposals for clean hydrogen off-take and projects
  • Evaluate new markets and make persuasive presentations to senior management and be a disciplined team member in reporting customer management in our CRP and enterprise resource platform (SAP).
  • Have a strong existing knowledge base on hydrogen value chain system components
  • Experience in specialty gas purchase negotiations

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS and/or BA, MBA preferred
  • Experience and deep understanding of the U.S. specialty gas or hydrogen markets
  • Strong hydrogen-related technical knowledge and understanding
  • Experience in customer presentations and negotiations
  • 5-10+ years of increasingly progressive development / origination experience
  • Experience in negotiating specialty gas purchase or delivery agreements
  • Preparation of market analyses, techno-economic optimization, and recommendations
  • Experience with reviewing and providing inputs for specialty gas-based financial models
  • Have exceptional communication skills

Travel Up to 40% travel as necessary

Location Remote employment an option for the right candidate, frequent presence in our offices in Miami (FL), San Diego (CA) or Austin (TX) will be preferred
