- Developing and executing product and business strategy in a world of rapid technological and social change requires a highly capable, highly knowledgeable, and highly engaged team.
- CASE and Energy Business Unit is tasked with navigating the path for Honda's future Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric, and Energy products, services, and businesses.
- The team will focus on building and sustaining Honda's core brand values and enhancing brand image and competitiveness in the marketplace by innovating, incubating, selecting, developing, applying, and operating new businesses, features, products, and services with responsibility for their profitability, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction for Honda in North America.
- This senior platform solutions architect role is responsible for major technical and business decisions and for leading teams and major cross functional company initiatives that are developing and applying new digital CASE and Energy software solutions in the market, and it informs and is accountable for the technical competence of the solutions that are developed.
- Lead software solutions from an architect perspective, guiding both team members, internal operation, and external operation to be successful and aligned with the projects and division goals.
- Responsible to lead architecture of projects to understand the best technology to solve the problem, and to reference industry examples of Pros/Cons. Examples of this include the CarPlay/AndroidAuto ecosystems, Alexa activities, Google Built-In, and other platform solutions.
- These activities will bring the technical knowledge of best solutions and pair it with the business & customer needs to provide most-effective strategies.
- Create and manage software development activities involving solutions that test and tune our strategic directions.
- Responsible for Multiple concurrent SW projects.
- Create and manage software development activities involving solutions for Honda Hardware, resulting in solutions that test and tune our strategic directions.
- Create and manage software development activities involving solutions for Honda web and Server solutions, resulting in solutions that test and tune our strategic directions.
- Responsible for assigning technical SW skills for projects.
- Responsible for capturing the "customer" needs before solving the problems.
- Responsible for checking the solution so that it meets the Needs (auditing).
- Interface between teams and SW developers.
- Build performant, scalable and secure native mobile applications on Android and Android Automotive.
- Provide guidance and direction on mobile application architecture and system design.
- Focus on user-centered design.
- Assist team members with their SW activities to meet their needs, timelines, goals, and budgets, providing each member with the support of a skilled software veteran and enabling them to be their most effective.
- Responsible for Internal Code Review and Coding guideline and protocol.
- 10 years architecting software solutions in the Android applications and systems
- 7 years experience programming Android applications and systems
- Successfully designed and developed mobile applications on Android
- Bachelor's degree Engineering or Science
- MBA desired not required
- Deep experience with at least one of Java, Kotlin.
- Possess an understanding of multi-tier application development; including knowledge of server-side technologies and databases.
- Understanding of mobile application optimizations such performance and memory optimizations, debugging memory leaks and caching.
- Experience and knowledge of authentication and authorization workflows using standards like OAuth.
- Able to think outside the box for solutions that meet the time and requirements
- Able to analyze, debug, and rate the code produced by internal and external developers
- Able to modify and program GUI based solutions
- Excellent planning and communication skills
- Strong specification writing skills
- Strong teamwork skills
- Ability to lead software developers to meet project goals and timelines
- Understanding of agile principles and methodologies and experience implementing and adapting them to fit the team's needs.
- Use and understand GIT-based source control systems
- Workstyle: hybrid remote
- Travel: 15% domestic and international
