Job Description:


Leidos Civil Transportation Solutions is seeking an experienced professional Senior Satellite Systems Engineer to support various satellite, GPS, and ground station programs.


Senior Satellite Systems Engineer responsibilities:



  • Developing A-Level System/Subsystem Specification (SSS) requirements, B-Level Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Systems Engineering Modeling and Design

  • Allocation of requirements to subsystems.

  • Prepare SRR and SDR documents and presentation charts.

  • Author Technical white papers and Trade Studies


Qualifications:



  • Required Bachelors Science degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • Systems Engineering experience, including proven experience working in complex projects gathering user requirements and converting them into system requirements and allocating the requirements to subsystems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience:

  • working directly with customers to discuss their requirements and objectives

  • interfacing with other functional areas (e.g. Software, Hardware)

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a team environment

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience developing systems engineering estimates for SRR and SDR required efforts and writing BOE's.

  • Proven experience writing Trade Study papers and ability to clearly identify recommendations based on business case criteria.,


Desired Skills:



  • Familiarity with SysML and System Engineering modeling and design approach

  • Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite and JIRA

  • Experience supporting Requirements Reviews with customer

  • Experience with laboratory equipment including precise and accurate clocks, GNSS receivers, Time Increment Counters and automation of data collection is desired.

  • Design of experiments to measure time accuracy and position accuracy is desired.

  • Experience modifying test vehicles (vans, airplanes, boats, underwater autonomous vehicles) for data collection and precise measurement of position is a plus

  • Practical (applied) knowledge of RF engineering, basics of propagation, fundamentals of antennas, filters, and transmission lines highly desired

  • Competency with Matlab and Labview is desired

Pay Range:


Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00
