- Conduct research to identify business opportunities in new and existing markets
- Analyze and provide structured market feedback, highlighting growth opportunities for subsequent business case assessments by the Business
- Develop a prospecting strategy to identify and engage new prospective customers and sales opportunities
- Promote the company s products and services understanding, anticipating, and addressing customer objectives. Master the company s vision, mission, and product value propositions
- Build and maintain a lead pipeline of interested prospects, planning sales management engagement as appropriate
- Establish contacts along various value chains to identify possible value chain collaboration opportunities, including but not limited to, sustainability advances
- Consolidate demand plans in support of potential asset projects and capacity expansions
- Take responsibility for building relationship with new or underserved customers and hand over to account managers according to defined processes and best practice
- Help training entry level staff in prospecting and business development methods and practices
- Provide regular reports to Sales and Marketing leadership
- Bachelor s degree in Marketing, Economics, Science/Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields
- 10+ years of experience in commercial roles, with a proven track record of growing businesses
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understand strategy and be able to think strategically
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to build rapport
- Creative thinking and win-win solution orientation
- Time management and planning skills
- Be proactive, well organized, and able to handle work under stressful and uncertain environments with minimum guidance
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM (preferably SalesForce.com) software
- Master's Degree in Marketing, Economics, Science/Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields
- Regional experience in customer interfacing roles
- Familiarity with commodity chemicals
- Experience working in a multi-national company, managing in multicultural environments, and conducting international business
- Industry experience in related downstream sectors
