Senior Microsoft Architect

Security Benefit is seeking a candidate to fill a Senior Microsoft Architect position. This position will be based in our home office in Topeka, Kansas. SB associates are working in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site work.

General Accountabilities:

The Senior Microsoft Architect works with customers, management, and peers to design, configure and support messaging systems hybrid Exchange, Exchange Online, Office 365, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft’s Intune, and other Microsoft messaging and communications services. Support includes specifications; installation, configuration and testing of services; establishing guidelines and standards; support of existing infrastructure and users, project support as directed, and other technical support functions. Training, mentorship, and other growth opportunities are a regular part of this role. Excellent presentation and communication skills are a must.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Architect will provide subject matter expertise in support of Exchange, Exchange Online, and Office 365 core services. To support this requirement, the role requires expert knowledge and expertise with designing, implementing, and supporting the following technologies:

• Exchange 2007/2010/2013/2016 / Exchange Online / Exchange Protection Manager


• Mobile Device Management (Intune, etc.)


• Office 365 tenant


• OneDrive for Business


• eDiscovery / Compliance Management


• AAD Connect


• Collaboration Tools such as Microsoft Teams and Slack


• Azure (Reporting / Azure AD / Azure ADRMS / Azure MFA


• Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) / Conditional Access Policy


• Permissions (Tenant / Security & Compliance / Exchange / Exchange Online)


• Clients (Outlook, Outlook for Mac, IMAP, POP3, Mobile Devices)

Skills and Experience:

15+ years of experience in IT Operations

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other technology discipline preferred


• Excellent O365/Exchange troubleshooting skills


• This position is internal customer facing at all levels and an excellent “Deskside Manner” is required
