Job Description:At Regions, the Digital User Experience (UX) Engineer Manager directs a team of UX Architects and UX Engineers to drive high-level sales and service strategy of project architecture and engineering in order to deliver quality user experiences across all digital platforms. This role informs, creates, and evolves the systems and processes that help the UX team deliver user-centered digital experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
Provides leadership, direction, and mentorship for a team who work in a variety of platforms, code bases and environments
Coaches and develops a results-oriented, innovative, and inclusive team of UX Engineers
Leads conversations that strive to solve complex problems and produce use cases, customer flows, navigation systems, wireframes, taxonomy, functional requirements, and proof-of-concepts
Writes scalable and maintainable front-end code in html, CSS, and JavaScript, and performs code reviews on the work of other UX Engineers
Collaborates with platform partners and product managers at a strategic level to introduce and extend feasible innovation across platforms
Defines information architecture principles and guidelines for web applications, including content organization and hierarchy, navigation and guidance systems, and content integration
Identifies user-experience design priorities and scenarios; defines interaction requirements; and works with UX, strategy and product teams to align short and long-term releases
Develops the UX design system team roadmap to create cohesive and scalable patterns to be leveraged across product lines, applying established patterns to prototypes and mockups to ensure consistency across products and influence the creation of new patterns for use by UX and development teams
Guides development teams to ensure development implementation that is true to original design intent
Participates in team initiatives including process improvement and thought leadership
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
This is a single incumbent position.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Information Sciences, Psychology, Communications, Human Factors, or related field and six (6) years designing systems and process structure for web and mobile solutions for enterprise platforms
Or High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years designing systems and process structure for web and mobile solutions for enterprise platforms
Experience creating influential relationships with cross-functional teams including development and product management within and across product groups
Preferences
Master’s degree in a related field
Skills and Competencies
Ability to work as part of a collaborative team to listen effectively, to respect others’ perspectives and contributions, and to offer and accept feedback openly
Ability to recruit, hire, train, and mentor other UX Engineers
Ability to build and maintain a design system or front-end pattern library in modern front-end languages and tools
Ability to organize and prioritize work for a team, including working in Jira, Confluence and other project or workflow-management tools
Ability to create wireframes, sitemaps, user flows, functional requirements, work models, user profiles, user scenarios and usability objectives, aligned with business and user goals
Ability to work within Agile/Scrum/SAFe development methodologies
Ability to incorporate design-thinking methodologies, facilitating workshops with both stakeholders and users to align on solutions
Experience in remote-first environments
Experience with complex business models
Expert knowledge of contemporary web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or similar JavaScript frameworks
Expert knowledge in front-end tools such as Git, unit testing tools, and visual regression testing tools
Knowledge of experience with technical teams and deep platform expertise
Organized, able to think beyond what is asked for, and able to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, often evolving environment
Fluency in Figma and similar design tools
Strong knowledge of Web Accessibility standards
Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills
Experience with Design Systems and pattern libraries built in React is highly desired

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
