Principal Engineer Remote
Reporting to the Director Engineering you will work with Procurement, Supply Chain Engineering and Operations, on steam and condensate return systems, boilers, compressed air, wastewater treatment and hot water sets to develop strategies leading to cost reduction and maximizing equipment performance.
You Will:
Develop programs focused on improving utility system capacity, capability, sustainability, and control while generally reducing total delivered costs.
Provide technical feasibility for the application to various groups within the organization.
Work with platform engineering leadership to develop annual and three year plus capital plans by recommending energy/utility system improvements and solutions that are proven in both concept and performance.
This role will require a blend of strategic thinking, technical know-how and tactical execution across a portfolio of infrastructure complex projects.
You will deal with ambiguity and be comfortable navigating on new and unproven ways while working on projects.
Develop Front-End-Loading packages (FEL's) and technical briefs
Infrastructure technology assessment and recommended solutions best in class practices. These include the following systems and equipment’s, steam and condensate, compressed air, air dryers, boilers, and waste-water treatment
Work with the engineering project manager to develop preliminary capital/ expense estimates and schedule. Primary equipment / system Performance criteria
Identify alternatives, pre-requisites, risks, and opportunities
Review submitted FEL-1 or Tech Brief packages that are developed by third-party engineering partners for accuracy, completeness, and operational effectiveness.
Participate in design reviews to ensure the proper implementation of utility technical solutions and codes through the execution phase.
Analyzes product/ systems and operational metrics and data to identify opportunity for improvement and create robust case to pursue them based on business objectives and cost implications.
You Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 6+ Years’ Industry Design Application Experience
OR 12+ Years of Manufacturing Industry Design Application Experience
Experience in thermal recovery or reducing energy usage from utility and process systems.
Engineering design and operation experience in utility systems and equipment: steam, compressed air, boilers, air compressors, hot water sets including wastewater
Excellent influential skills and stake holder management.
Willing to travel 50%
