Job Description - Experienced Software Developer

MARTAC seeks experienced software developers to work with our software team to take our suite of USV autonomy and control software to the next level. MARTAC has developed a USV control system called TASKER including on-board vessel control components and ground-based user stations. Maritime autonomy technology is still in its very early phases and MARTAC is on the cutting edge.

MARTAC has multiple openings for two high profile projects. One is a multiple-sensor perception system requiring an emphasis on image processing; the other is to extend our autonomy capabilities.

Your job will begin by learning the current system and then working with our architect and software developers on these projects. Base system components are written in C/C operating on the LINUX OS. All systems components work across IP networks and message bus architectures.

While some amount of remote work can be arranged, this is primarily an on-site job.

Baseline Skills:

• Minimum 7 years developing software, more experience a plus.
• Strong C/C coding skills
• System design and software architecture – ability to communicate and document ideas clearly.
• Ability to work across LINUX (Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems with an emphasis on LINUX.
• Real time control experience.
• Familiarity with standard build and source control sytems: Make, git. CMake a plus.
• Good troubleshooting ability
• Maritime/boat experience a plus.

Additional Skills a Plus:

• Image processing and/or knowledge of image processing components
• Message Bus architectures
• Python
• Knowledge of sensors (e.g. EO/IR cameras, radar, lidar, temperature, pressure, acoustic)
• Experience with robotics or remote control vehicles is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
