PURPOSE: We are currently seeking engineers to conduct applied research into new areas of welding machine design.



 



JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)




  • Research, plan, design, and develop new electrical products and PCBs related to new advanced technology welding products.  This role will take ownership of the electrical aspects for new and existing products.

  • Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.

  • Serve as a hardware engineer for major development projects or multiple simultaneous projects.

  • Responsible for ensuring that hardware design activities are completed per the product development process through concept, design, verification, and launch phases of projects.

  • Work closely with software engineers, designing with a system-wide perspective.

  • Perform, instruct and supervise testing of new designs.

  • Work with Manufacturing and Marketing to improve quality, manufacturability and value of new designs.

  • Interact with suppliers, customers, distributors, and sales engineers on an occasional basis.

  • Coordinate activities of technical support personnel.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

  • Under general supervision, plans, conducts and supervises assignments.

  • Reviews progress and evaluates results.

  • Recommends changes in procedures.

  • Operates with substantial latitude for taking action or making decisions.

  • Review progress with management.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.



 



BASIC REQUIREMENTS




  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering

  • 1+ years of experience in a research and/or product development.

  • Knowledge of project management and process improvement methods (e.g. stage gate, six sigma)

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of a variety of difficult assignments and changing priorities.
