Program Manager /Operations Director
This is a unique opportunity to further your career as a client-facing leader responsible for running and growing a nascent portfolio of projects and at the same time serving as the operations director for the Business Area working directly with the Vice President/Business Area Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities
Program/Project Management
Lead small/medium-sized projects
Manage client relationships
Maintain high quality standards for delivery excellence
Own financial management responsibilities to meet or exceed revenue and profit targets
Recruit, hire, retain, and mentor project staff
Write statements of work; negotiate subcontracts; manage project subcontracts
Identify and capture organic growth opportunities
Position projects for successful contract recompetes
Support Growth Initiatives
Work closely with Growth Team to identify and capture new business opportunities for assigned portfolio.
Achieve annual growth goals for assigned portfolio
Ongoing management and prioritization of pipeline opportunities
Major contributor, working with Growth Team, during all phases of the capture process: opportunity assessment, teaming strategy, competitive assessment, technical solution, pricing strategy, client engagement, bid/no-bid.
Review proposals and pricing strategies with an eye on the price-to-win with a discriminating win-approach that improves GDIT's win odds.
Operations Director
Manage the project performance review cycles by monitoring project metrics (such as staffing, financial, cybersecurity) using Heatmaps, Quad charts, Program Management Review (PMR) meetings, Monthly Management Review (MMR) meetings, and implement process improvements and project execution enhancements with the specific project managers.
Create engaging business presentations for senior leadership that promotes knowledge sharing within and across different project teams in support of Business Area and Sector initiatives.
Work extensively with internal IT business systems such as Salesforce, Insight, SC-360, Setris, Timesheets, BPM, and WorkDay.
Apply project management experience and leadership working on special assignments that support the business direction, priorities, and attainment of annual targets of the Business Area Manager, the Sector Manager, and the broader GDIT enterprise objectives. Examples of special projects:
Supporting leadership succession planning by tracking identified 'rising star' leaders
Supporting technical certification attainment to enhance resource competitiveness and professional development
Direct and track the use of summer interns and college hires to refresh the business area's staffing profile.
Requirements:
Education: BA/BS Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related fields
10+ years of overall experience in information technology with broad exposure to various IT services such as, application development, hosting, cyber, infrastructure, network, and helpdesk.
5+ years of IT project management experience
3+ years of experience supporting business growth activities (capture, proposals)
Ability to apply project management methodologies to direct all phases of program(s) from inception through completion, executing completion of the program on schedule and within budget constraints.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and comprehend technical and financial details clearly.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
Preferred Certification(s): Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL v3/4
Location: Remote with occasional on site visits in the DC metro area.
