Sr Application Engineer (Web Solutions)

Nemours is seeking a Sr. Application Engineer (Web Solutions), Full-Time, to join our Nemours Children's Health team.



This is a REMOTE position.



The Senior Application Engineer will play a leadership role in the development of digital experiences owned by the Web Solutions team. This position will work closely with internal stakeholders and collaborators to build a scalable and reusable digital platform on Adobe Experience Manager. The position will architect the process of complex front-end development within the Software Development Life Cycle (requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing and documentation). In addition to knowledge base around applications, the position will also have a strong understanding of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) architecture, PHP and atomic design principles.

• Leverage subject matter expertise (SME) in all aspects of front-end development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to craft a scalable front-end architecture (secure, high-performing, extensible, flexible, simple).
  
• Provide development guidelines to adhere to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) creating an optimal user experience while meeting compliance regulations.
  
• Provide subject matter expertise (SME) relevant to Search Engine Optimization (SEO), recommending tasks and solutions to increase the ranking of Nemours-owned digital experiences in search engine results pages (SERP).
  
• Translate capabilities into various code artifacts, including estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, and deployment to advance the product forward from user story through deployment.
  
• Ensure digital experiences are fully optimized for cross-browser and device compatibility issues and identify solutions for UI challenges across the device landscape.
  
• Play a leadership role in enablement by creating documentation and facilitating end-user training.
  
• Conceptualize and transform the strategic direction and technical platform of content syndication products.
  
• Mentor junior members on the team and create an environment of continuous improvement.
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required. A Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent on-the-job experience may substitute for the Bachelor's Degree.
  
• A minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which both technical and professional capabilities have been clearly demonstrated is required.
  
• Minimum of 5 years of front-end development experience and a basic understanding of Adobe Experience Manager templates and components.
  
• Experience working in a project-based application development environment - inclusive of PM and SDLC methodologies along with technical expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Front-end technologies, and Web application servers.
