Sr. Solutions Engineer

At Databricks we are on a mission to empower our customers to solve the world's toughest data problems by utilizing the Lake House platform.

As a Sr. Solutions Engineer you will play a critical role during this journey. As part of the Field Services team, you will collaborate with the sales team to nurture the growth in early stage startups by providing technical advisory. Additionally, you will partner with Solution Architects to deliver technical services and accelerate platform adoption. In this role, you will have an opportunity to grow as a technical leader to provide thought leadership and architecture recommendations to solve cutting edge business use-cases for our customers.

The impact you will have

• Lead customers through evaluating and adopting Databricks by delivering enablement and technical solutions
• Deliver technical services to the broader field engineering team
• Learn to solve complex big data challenges for customers
• Lead architecture migrations for Enterprise customers
• Contribute to and design standard procedures and playbooks for current and future team members to use in customer engagements
• As one of the founding members of the field services team, you will have an unique opportunity to help us shape the future of the program

What We Look For

• Experience writing code in at least one of the following areas
• Data engineering or machine learning (Python, R, etc.)
• Software or application engineering (C, Java, Rust, etc.)
• Database systems (SQL)
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excited to work with people and technology in equal measure.
• [Desired] Degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Computational Linguistics, Operations Research, Psycho Linguistics etc.).
• [Desired] Internships, volunteer programs, or other activities that had a public speaking or client-facing component.
