Research Associate (Infectious Disease)

Piper Clinical Solutions is seeking a Research Associate to support a well-known research organization specializing in infectious disease research in the Rockville, MD area. The Research Associate will be responsible for performing DNA/RNA extractions and developing novel immunoassays.

Responsibilities of the Research Associate include:

•      Design, generate, and characterize recombinant proteins

•      Perform mammalian cell culture, transient transfections, protein expressions, protein purifications, and micro pipetting in a BSL2 laboratory setting

•      Perform ELISA assays and other cell-based assays

•      Collect, analyze, and summarize data using statistical software programs

•      Perform laboratory maintenance such as maintaining and calibrating equipment and ordering laboratory supplies

•      Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks

•      Create and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Qualifications of the Research Associate include:

•      1+ years of experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) or BSL-2 environment

•      Experience with mammalian cell culture, ELISA assays and micro pipetting

•      Bachelor of Science in biological sciences and/or related field such as biology, chemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, etc.

Compensation for the Research Associate includes:

•        Salary: $50,000 – $65,000 *depending on relevant experience*
