Apple Media Services Legal group supports Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple TV app, Apple Fitness+, Shazam, and other media and entertainment services worldwide.


We are seeking to add to our team an exceptional, ambitious, and creative legal and business affairs professional or paralegal to support musical artist and record label arrangements for Apple Music and Platoon, the artist services company known for helping to launch the careers of artists such as Jorja Smith, Billie Eilish, Mr Eazi and Stefflon Don.


Key Qualifications

5+ years relevant experience negotiating and closing deals in the music industry.

Experience working with music copyrights and other areas of intellectual property and entertainment law.

Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Deep understanding of music licensing, talent services and recording contracts, digital distribution, and music promotion and marketing.

Effective negotiator with strong business and problem-solving skills who is well versed in structuring licensing and other agreements.

Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively on cross-functional teams.

Sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle a variety of matters at once in a fast-paced environment.

Business and legal affairs experience working alongside attorneys at a record label, digital music service provider, and/or entertainment law firm preferred.

Passion for music.


Description

The Apple Media Services legal team is responsible for the full range of legal work for domestic and international distribution through the world s leading digital content platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for teaming up with attorneys to negotiate and close the music licensing and artist transactions that make Apple such a unique player in the music industry. In any given week you may find yourself closing deals for live streaming of a concert on Apple Music, helping Platoon s attorneys plan for an agreement to distribute recordings from a hot new musical artist, and structuring licenses for use of music in Apple products and services. You will be open minded, flexible and progressive, using your skills to create mutually beneficial enduring partnerships.


The successful candidate will be a diligent and dedicated negotiator and drafter who can translate commercial objectives into agreements under tight deadlines, coordinate with and execute on behalf of business teams and attorneys, and juggle a varied set of matters for Apple s dynamic music businesses.


Education & Experience

BS/BA required, JD a plus
