Role


We are looking for a motivated and experienced Strategic Engagement Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for providing leadership and direction across sales enablement programs to achieve the company's growth and transformation. You will drive the transition to Use-Case selling with use cases aligned to customer journey, product and domain expertise and Splunk go-to-market operating strategies.


In this role you will identify and leverage data and insights to program manage opportunities to drive engagement and build enablement plans that are core to the business strategy. You have passion for helping others succeed and the desire to collaborate on the design, delivery and reinforcement of high-impact enablement solutions for our Splunk Global Field Sales teams. You will partner with cross-functional business teams across the sales, product, marketing and Go-to-Market Operations organizations to evaluate existing selling programs and processes and drive overall improvements.


The ideal candidate is motivated by learning programs, skills development and leadership coaching. They accept change and are comfortable navigating through ambiguity and driving large organizational change. Talent and learning analytics are a big part of this job and this person will be responsible for tracking/ measuring and reporting results to key collaborators and leaders.


Responsibilities


You are an individual contributor but a born leader and will guide and motivate a team of both cross-functional and enablement resources to execute on Strategic Sales Engagements across the Splunk sales ecosystem and customers. You will demonstrate your experience in enterprise-level project and program management, operating in a pre-sales environment in addition to shaping and scoping large and sophisticated implementation projects. You will lead and track all engagement metrics while providing regular reporting across the organization to key stakeholders. You will help define an improved business process for tracking customer engagement on Salesforce and build and implement a formal QA process that include leading discovery sessions.


You will document business requirements and perform QA for customer facing programs through the lens of the seller and anticipate needs and position enablement, support and other solutions that may be needed for a successful customer experience. You excel in analytical & problem solving skills along with a data driven approach and have the ability to thrive in a high velocity, highly dynamic work environment and go above and beyond by anticipating needs and work to resolve potential issues before they become problematic. You have experience in implementing and enforcing program practices that set proper expectations with team members and stakeholders and then deliver on those expectations. You will help identify gaps in existing processes and collaborate with cross-functional business teams across all segments, roles and Theaters to bridge the gaps and improve processes at scale.


A core responsibility is to successfully partner with internal subject matter experts (GTM Operations, Product, Product Marketing, Marketing, Legal, Finance,, Sales Management & Reps) to complete Revenue Enablement Programs strategy. You will collaborate with experts across the field sales ecosystem to establish & create assessment and evaluation strategies to measure the efficacy and return on investment of the Splunk Simplified Selling Program; partner closely with Go-To- Market Operations, Sales Teams/ Leaders and Product Marketing.


Requirements




  • 5+ years of proven experience driving sales effectiveness programs and developing strategic engagement program for sales organizations




  • 5+ years sales experience preferred




  • Experience with technical SaaS platforms and products




  • Excels in execution, prioritizing and meeting swift deadlines in a fast pace, and constantly evolving environment




  • Outstanding presentation, written, and oral communication skills, including the ability to adapt content on the fly based on audience engagement




  • Highly organized, detail oriented and self-directed




  • Expert in Google Applications, Smartsheet (or other project management tools), and familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM




  • Experience using standard eLearning tools (MindTickle, Articulate, Brainshark, etc.) and web-based meeting tools (Zoom, WebEx, LiveMeeting, etc.) to build instructionally sound learning programs is desired




  • Project management skills (PMI certified a plus)

Note: Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for bonus and benefits, and may be eligible for equity.


Base Pay Range


SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area


Base Pay Range: $124,000 - 170,500 per year


California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts


Base Pay Range: $116,000 - 159,500 per year


All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.


Base Pay Range: $104,800 - 144,100 per year
