The Chief/Senior Architect (Hybrid Architecture) is at the intersection of business and technology. The role will lead and jointly develop with business leaders the technology strategy and roadmap for our most important hybrid business offerings (software solution + services) across industries and offering portfolios.



This role will work across teams to understand a wide array of key business requirements, go to market needs, etc. and translates all aspects of the business vision into a technical roadmap and high-level architecture. This role will be at the forefront of innovation, collaborate with emerging technology teams and scan the technology ecosystem (3 rd party and open source) for opportunities to innovate. This role will be a steward for firm resources and as such actively look for reuse opportunities across Deloitte's global software asset portfolio and connect the dots from a business perspective, i.e. looking for opportunities to leverage synergies across businesses. The role will work with major alliance partners (3 rd party technology / solution providers) and serve as trusted technical advisor to our business leaders. The individual will have a strong experience in architecting and developing enterprise software solution and will be a strong advocate for best architecture and engineering practices. She/he will be an active advisor and coach to technical roles and teams across our portfolio of Hybrid Businesses.



Essential Functions of this Role Include:




  • Member of New Business Innovations Hybrid Architecture team. Engagement with practice teams across industries and offering portfolios on early-stage solution ideas and lean in on all technical aspects.



  • Preparation and facilitation of technology workshops with business stakeholder / technology leaders and practice teams to drive alignment on technology options, innovations and differentiators. Jointly works out a high-level architecture roadmap and high-level efforts / cost.



  • Serves as trusted strategic technology advisor, prepares buy vs build recommendations as well as opportunity / risk evaluations for complex solution offerings.



  • Cross-functional collaboration with product management, business architecture, alliance, research & emerging tech teams, etc. to shape ideation and market opportunities, business vision and providing thought technology leadership.



  • Works with Deloitte key alliances, vendors to identify new capabilities, opportunities to innovate and actively communicates to broader teams (NBI, practice teams, guilds, DCA, etc.)



  • Works with Research teams and emerging tech teams to identify appropriate opportunities to innovate across horizontal and vertical (industry) use cases.



  • Advocate for best practices, proven tools, frameworks etc. (e.g. DevOps, collaboration tools, etc.) and actively works on establishing a product mindset and enablement for technology roles (architects, engineers, etc.)



  • Close collaboration with solution architects as ideas mature and are transitioned into the build/implementation phase



  • Prepares technology and use case briefings to broader teams on strategic technology topics



  • Maintain fluency in business and technology market trends, voice of the customer and competitive landscape for relevant markets associated with specific offerings



  • Demonstrate and champion NBI's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and well-being goals within the team



    Qualifications:



  • 10+ years' experience in a software engineering, architecture, or comparable role with hands-on experience in software development



  • Experience in leading large and complex software development programs or solution implementation projects



  • Experience in product management



  • Experience working closely with product engineering teams and Agile development methodology to define applications and manage them through the entire product lifecycle



  • Thought leader who has a proven track record to work successfully with teams across the whole innovation and software engineering lifecycle from ideation, design to execution.



  • Proven successful track record of conceptualizing, designing and building complex software solutions



  • Technical certifications with AWS (e.g. AWS Solution Architect, AWS Cloud Developer) or comparable cloud platform providers



  • Strong industry experience in at least one industry such as e.g. CPG/Retail, Life Science and Healthcare, Public Sector, Banking/Insurance, etc.



  • Experience in working with technology partners / alliances, start-ups, etc.



  • Experience working effectively in virtual settings across global time zones



  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate with internal stakeholders from various levels and areas across a matrixed organization and drive successful outcomes cross-functionally

  • Strong passion for new technologies, does actively research and keeps up to date about emerging technologies with a track record of writing or contributing to tech publications (blog, whitepapers, etc.)



  • Strong communication skills. Experienced and comfortable in leading technical discussions with clients, business leaders and technical teams



  • Proven success leading diverse and geographically dispersed teams



  • Skillful executive presence and presentation skills, with demonstrable ability to tactfully and effectively influence upward decision making



  • Agile or product management expertise, certification is considered a plus



    The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $139,000 to $254,000.




You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
