$130,000 - $150,000/Yr, plus up to a 25K bonus
Hybrid 4 days in office (Naperville, IL)
Summary:
Our Client is seeking a software engineer with a passion for the financial services business. The engineer will be part of the Investment Systems Team, which is responsible for the management and integration of the firm s Order Management, Portfolio Accounting, Risk and Analytic systems. This individual should bring best practice techniques and new ideas and should be interested in turning our platforms into a competitive advantage. The Investment Systems Developer works with the Trading, Portfolio Management, and Risk Management Teams and is responsible for the full life cycle of software development activities including partnering with the business, requirements gathering, design, software development, testing, documentation, and production support. As a member of the Investment Systems Team, this individual will need to perform additional team related duties including actively participating in team discussions and meetings, mentoring of other team members, and performing occasional on-call rotation based production support.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Partner with the Trading, Portfolio Management, and Risk Management Teams to
deliver best-in-class solutions.
2. Responsible for all aspects of software development for projects assigned
including requirements gathering, design, software development, testing,
documentation, and production support.
3. Deliver software products with minimal defects.
4. Deliver software projects that adhere to both team and firm software standards.
5. Participate in the team on-call rotation to handle critical issues.
6. Active participation in team meetings and discussions.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor s degree required in Computer Science or other related field.
2. At least 2 years of full life cycle software development experience.
3. At least 2 years of experience in software development projects using .NET and
MS SQL.
4. Experience with Agile development methodologies, preferably Scrum.
5. Experience creating and/or consuming REST or gRPC web services
6. Competencies in Microsoft platform & development technologies including
Azure.
7. Experience with distributed systems and messaging.
8. Experience implementing or using automated QA tools as part of the software
development process.
9. Experience with system integration. Charles River Development (Order
Management System), Eagle Investments Systems (Portfolio Accounting
System), Barra Inc. (Investment Analytics System), and Bloomberg (Market Data
System) preferred.
10. Must have excellent technical and analytical skills.
11. Must have strong communication skills.
12. Experience interfacing with business partners (trading, portfolio management, or
back office).
13. Track record of demonstrating leadership potential
