SUMMARY: Ensures the quality and ISO compliance of products/processes and manages/coordinates the activities of employees engaged in the quality auditing of production or processing of goods. Establishes quality-control guidelines and testing procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality and ISO Compliance
Ensure company’s compliance to Quality & ISO standards.
Represent the company in response to customer quality inquiries, surveys and audits.
Cooperates with other top management personnel in formulating and establishing quality policies and quality goals.
Coordinates functions and operations between departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
Visits and confers with suppliers to assure supply chain quality.
Product Testing and Verification
Ensures that VPC products (new and existing) are properly verified to meet performance expectations.
Visits and confers with customers to troubleshoot and solve quality issues.
Manage QA testing lab equipment and testing task list.
Communicates problems, significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management
Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards (Rudimentary understanding- training)
Continuous Improvement
Leads team in proactively improving quality systems and implementing quality improvements to meet company’s quality goals (i.e. scrap $’s and PPM).
Champions the use of a disciplined approach to problem solving (8-D’s, MBF’s).
Drive SPC data collection and analysis for capability improvement.
Improve company’s delivery performance, efficiency, and throughput through the utilization of Lean Principles (Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, and Product Flow).
Participate in QOS process to improve costs.
Champion the development of understanding QOS at all levels.
Vendor Relations
Communicates problems, significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
Application of SPC software
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises 4 employees within the Quality department.
Indirectly supervises 4 employees within the Quality department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree (BA) from in Engineering or technical field, and/or five to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite, internet, email, manufacturing software, database software
Experience with Net-Insepct preferred
