**_GDIT is seeking a Senior Java developer who is well skilled in project development, implementation, deployment and maintenance using Java/J2EE technologies to support the United States Postal Service mission._**

**HOW** **SENIOR JAVA DEVELOPER** **WILL MAKE AN IMPACT**

The Senior Java developer will design, develop, code, test, and debug complex software products, or make significant enhancements to existing software. The ideal candidate must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in Java/J2EE technologies. They must be at ease working in an agile environment and should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

Applies advanced knowledge to all phases of the software development lifecycle

Applies advanced knowledge to analyze user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs

Applies advanced knowledge to create a wide variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application

Applies advanced knowledge to software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs

Provides advance analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or status

Provides advanced guidance on the software or system for optimal documentation and future maintenance and updates

May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

May serve as a team or task lead

**WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:**

+ **Education** :

+ BA/BS or equivalent, 10+ years of experience

+ **Required Experience** :

+ 10 years of java development

+ **Required Technical Skills** :

+ 10 years of professional experience including project development, implementation, deployment, and maintenance using Java/J2EE technologies.

+ Experience creating data ingestion pipelines, data transformations, data management, data governance and real-time streaming at an enterprise level.

+ Proficient in developing Web-based user interfaces using **HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, XML, JSON, jQuery UI, Bootstrap, Node JS.**

+ Experience in creating real-time data streaming solutions using **Kafka** .

+ Experience implementing **CI/CD** pipelines using **Jenkins**

+ Experience working on **AWS docker containers** , **AWS S3, AWS EC2** .

+ Experience in handling messaging services using **Apache Kafka** .

+ Excellent skills in implementing Client and Server-side components using Java, J2EE technologies **(JSP, Servlets, JDBC, EJB and JSF** ).

+ Experience in design, development and implementation of Model-View-Controller **(MVC1, MVC2) using Struts2.x, spring frameworks and JSF** .

+ Expertise in development tools like Eclipse, My Eclipse and STS.

+ Experience in using and configuring various application servers like BEA Web logic, JBOSS and Tomcat.

+ Experience in development and implementation of ORM frameworks like Hibernate.

+ Knowledge on **AJAX, SOAP, Web Services and WebLogic Portal** .

+ Experience in RDBMS like Oracle and associated SQL Programming Knowledge in creating and maintaining SQL Databases **, JDBC, TSQL, DB Tables, Stored Procedures, Views, Functions, Triggers and PL/SQL.**

+ Experience using various internet technologies like **JavaScript, HTML, CSS, exJS and XML** .

+ Expertise in SQL Scripting and exposure in understanding stored procedures and involved in the study of Database Design Process.

+ Experience in source control system such as Clear Case, CVS, Perforce and SVN.

+ Experience in Agile Methodology (Scrum, Daily stand-up meetings, story points)

+ Good verbal and written communication skills.
