PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develops and implements best practices and corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Directs staff in the implementation of major capital improvement projects, including funding, design through construction management stages, and coordination with internal, as well as external organizations.
  • Directs the formulation of the scope and technical approaches necessary to the design and construction of major rail, light rail and bus system development capital projects.
  • Directs the formulation of the estimation of time and funding required to ensure adequate budgeting and decision-making on capital project feasibility and scope.
  • Monitors adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Directs the formulation and implementation of project control systems for Division projects.
  • Directs inter-agency/governmental coordination, problem resolution and issues resolution, including community meetings and project review.
  • Conducts project management skills training sessions to staff.

    • KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  •  Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering or equivalent, and ten (10) years of progressive staff and project management experience in the planning, design and/or construction of public transportation projects including the implementation of corporate and policy and business strategies.
  • Proven ability to design and construct projects in support of NJ TRANSIT operations required. 
  • Professional Engineer's License in the State of New Jersey is desired.
