Job Functions / Responsibilities 




  • Be part of a team of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers supporting development projects for new engines, zero-emissions powertrains, and self-driving vehicles.   

  • Provide Simultaneous Manufacturing Engineering input to Design Engineering and coordinate plant input and feedback. 

  • Develop Manufacturing and Operations functional requirements documents and validation plans for software and hardware testing and programming.   

  • Complete all necessary Manufacturing Documents per the approved schedule. 

  • Develop, assess, and implement processes to test and validate new truck systems technologies prior to production implementation. 

  • Assist in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and lead efforts in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), where appropriate. 

  • Review and develop new technologies for manufacturing, assembling, programming, and testing components and systems.  

  • Supervises the acquisition and implementation of project-related capital tooling assets. 



 



Qualifications & Skills




  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering or a related field.  

  • Demonstrated ability gained through 5+ years of progressively complex engineering assignments. 

  • Training in DFSS and Advanced Quality Systems is desirable. 

  • Knowledge of software development V-cycle is desirable. 

  • Understanding of J1939 communications protocol and heavy vehicle electrical architecture. 

  • Experience developing automated test routines for electrical systems is desirable. 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. 

  • Excellent organizational, PC, and project management skills. 

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities.
