Position overview
The Engagement Manager offers strategic, consultative, tailored support across CWT’s client and prospect segments and geographies for our acquisition and retention efforts. In collaboration with the customer or prospect opportunity owner (sales or retention VP/Sr. Director), they take the lead as part of the Global Commercial Operations bid team to oversee the strategic messaging and writing/positioning of our tailored value proposition - making sure it speaks to the value CWT delivers to the customer/prospect.
The Engagement Manager works closely with the opportunity owner and creative partners to set the strategy for the visual design of bespoke materials that will have the greatest impact within branding standards and leads the development of the storyboard and all strategic components of the bid and oversees the finalization of client-facing materials.
The Engagement Manager is an innovative thinker, actively sharing experience and information with peers and across accounts to enhance the effectiveness of our sales process and achieve CWT's aggressive sales and retention goals.
This role will be based in NORAM.
Position Description
Core responsibilities include:
Own the end-to-end deal including leading execution on client-specific deliverables and requirements. Manage delivery of all deliverables to key internal/external milestones and project plan (RFI/RFP, proposals, presentations, microsites, site visits and other retention/sales-related materials).
Deliver strategic consulting to raise the bar on CWT’s message and positioning, and ensure they align to client priorities and differentiate CWT for success. Provide insight and consultation to opportunity owners to identify most impactful deliverables and channels.
Challenge the status quo to provide bold and disruptive positioning that will differentiate CWT from the competition.
Partner with the creative team to transform the CWT value proposition for a specific customer into impactful creative design and bring our visual assets to a new level.
Develop written components, including strategic, persuasive content to reflect overarching, client-specific messaging. Work to weave storyline into RFP as appropriate and identify areas requiring high levels of customization
Synthesize and position appropriate product and prospect/client information to articulate a tailored vision/value proposition through compelling, customized proposals and visuals
Differentiate CWT and ensure that we clearly demonstrate an understanding of client/prospect’s needs and business model

Qualifications
Position Requirements
Minimum expectations and experience include:
Strong written/verbal communication skills
A broad understanding of business and business models of our customers
Sophisticated analytical and conceptual thinking skills and business and strategic acumen
Ability to present and articulate project objectives
Poise and presence to lead-up and direct leaders and senior leaders
Ability to work effectively (autonomously and collaboratively) with all levels of the company
5 years’ experience in marketing, sales or client management with demonstrable results
Exposure to and understanding of the RFP process
Ability to work with a content management database
A solid sense of humor and resiliency
Industry experience not required but preferred
Previous experience in a specific bid writing and/or persuasive writing, as well as bid management or similar position, is considered essential for this position. Previous experience in the use of RFP automation tools such as Upland/Qvidian, and/or graphic design software such as the Adobe suite is considered highly advantageous.
