**Job Description**

The Virtualization Engineer II is responsible for day to day activities required to keep virtual infrastructure (hypervisors and management tools) running at peak performance. The Virtualization Engineer II is the escalation point for Virtualization Engineer Is and support teams with the primary objective of client satisfaction and system uptime. The Virtualization Engineer II is also responsible for a variety of technical tasks, including; creating and following processes and procedures, creating and updating documentation, and leading team projects. The Virtualization Engineer II needs a strong understanding of core virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere. Basic understanding of other core IT concepts: storage, networking, security, guest operating systems, and general troubleshooting skills is required.

**Required Qualifications**

Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position

Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

IS/IT related Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of experience working with servers, network, storage, or security.

3+ years VMware vSphere vCenter and ESX host installation, troubleshooting, and support experience.

Automation thru scripting with PowerShell.

An understanding of ITIL - Service Operations framework.



**Preferred Qualifications**

VMware VCP6.5-DCV or VCP-DCV 2019 Certification or higher

VMware vSAN experience

VMware NSX or Cisco ACI networking experience

VMware vRealize Automation support experience

HPE Blade and Rackmount Hardware Administration including OneView

Excellent verbal and written skills

**Responsibilities**

Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server/network capacity. React to potential problems using automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools -- escalating to management where appropriate. Participate in configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Responsible for support documentation as well.

**Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)**

New York City Pay Range: from $31.54 to $55.24 per hour; from $65,600 to $114,900 per annum; eligible for equity.

Colorado Pay Range: from $28.22 to $52.36 per hour; from $58,700 to $108,900 per annum; eligible for equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
