Job Description

OBJECTIVES:

  • Provide support and technical expertise in financial analysis to enable clinical supplier cost excellence to ensure financial predictability for clinical trials
  • Manage and maintain standards, templates, processes, and tracking used to support cost excellence services

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide support and technical expertise to enable clinical supplier cost excellence to ensure financial predictability for clinical trials
  • Manage and maintain standards, templates, processes, and tracking used to support cost excellence services
  • Support execution of cost analysis of services externalized to clinical suppliers in line with trial delivery operating models
  • Provide technical expertise and system ownership for budget tools and technology (e.g., ClearTrial, Grant Plan) to support cost validation exercises - primary system user and enabler
  • Manage and maintain tools to execute cost comparisons across key categories (e.g., suppliers, therapeutic areas, programs) used to evaluate outliers and ensure cost standardization
  • Provide skilled expertise in financial analysis and develop analytical models and reports to support cost comparison exercises
  • Maintain data repositories, shared file systems such as Teams and SharePoint, and functional files
  • Participate in system and process improvements related to supplier cost excellence to ensure financial predictability for clinical trials
  • Enable technology to support cost validations, scenario planning, benchmarking exercises, etc. and conduct external technology assessments as required
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable internal policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Participate in other partnership engagement communications, activities, and stakeholder engagement
  • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives to support the business

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced technical degree (e.g., MBA) or certifications (e.g., PMP, CPA) preferred
  • 5+ years of applicable financial analysis experience, preferably in an R&D setting
  • Clinical trial experience strongly recommended
  • Experience preferred with key clinical supplier categories (CRO, Central Labs, Clinical Technologies, etc.)
  • Technical proficiency with financial tools and systems (e.g., ClearTrial, Excel) and demonstrated aptitude for technology and business systems
  • Ability to develop, maintain and manage clinical supplier cost strategies and processes
  • Ability to support multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced project management skills required
  • Ability to assess issues/risks and effectively implement remediation measures
  • Ability to comprehend and synthesize complex financial data, identify issues and trends and develop/implement solutions
  • Experience supporting a complex organization and demonstrated ability to work across functions and regions
  • Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal presentation skills

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional Domestic travel
  • 10-20% travel to Boston R&D headquarters

Base Salary Range: $102,000 to $146,000, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
