Responsibilities

An individual contributor that maintains the physical security of personnel and property within local IGT facilities by enforcing all IGT security directives and regulations.

  • Primary focus of the position is upon maintaining security of personnel and property of assigned facility
  • Observes facilities from a fixed post or by patrolling on foot
  • Monitors behavior and enforces security regulations
  • Identifies and reports violators as appropriate
  • Communicates security violations or other threats to physical security (fire, disorder, any emergency)
  • Serves as first point of contact in emergency situations
  • Serves as liaison to law enforcement, fire agency personnel, or emergency medical personnel from federal, state, or local agencies
  • Prepares reports of all incidents involving criminal and security violations

Security Operation Center

  • Receives, reviews and trouble shoots level 1 security equipment failures
  • Monitors security officer current assignments
  • Ensures calls are resolved
  • Documents shift activity in the Daily Activity Log
  • Monitors access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, and video surveillance systems
  • Monitors CCTV with the use of the Ultrakey system. Understands how to reset the Ultrakey system when needed

Customer Service

  • Proactively maintains an environment that is safe and secure in appearance and in actuality
  • Provides professional and courteous service at all times
  • Attempts to diffuse or prevent dangerous or criminal activities whenever possible
  • Educates IGT employees with regard to security policies and regulations
  • Assists IGT employees with issues relating to security (security escorts, providing directions, assisting with badging, etc.)
  • Provides assistance with the shipment of the monthly USB's

Communications/Interactions

  • Promotes an ongoing attitude of customer service
  • Internal contacts are limited to the department served
  • External contacts are infrequent
  • Receives and transmits semi-routine information requiring little explanation or interpretation

Assignment of Work

  • Work is subject to close supervisory oversight and review
  • Detailed instructions are given on new assignments
  • Follows established procedures on recurring assignments
  • Escalates all or most non-routine issues or problems to senior personnel for resolution
Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Has basic knowledge of the department's procedures
  • Has basic knowledge of skills in:
    • Federal, state, local laws and ordinances
    • Security/law enforcement equipment
    • Security protective systems (fire alarms, building access, etc.)
    • CCTV experience
  • Associate's Degree/High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Typically has 1 to 2 years of experience in security
