CommScope is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer. This is a 100% remote US based role and incumbents must be based in US.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

As a member of the RAN Systems Engineering team, you will be involved in defining detailed technical requirements and achieve continued quality excellence of our DAS and small cell product lines. This is a highly technical position requiring in-depth technical engagements. You'll be instrumental in working with Product Management team and customers to converge on product requirements. Work with engineering teams to define detailed engineering feature requirements and system-level design, as well as providing architectural expertise and guidance. Perform theoretical analysis, simulations and define algorithms for current and future features of our LTE and 5G small cell and DAS products. Engage with customers on explaining technical details of our products and propose solutions for customer specific requirements. Work with multi-functional teams and lead technical activities for customer trials and deployments. Collaborate with development teams and review feature software design specification documents to ensure design meets all objectives of the feature requirements. Engage with verification teams on devising and reviewing test plans. Perform Root cause analysis and solve field issues when required. Propose new, creative solutions for tough, system-wide problems. Produce white papers and technical documents for customers and for internal teams. Review and provide feedback on technical documents written throughout the organization. Continually evaluate, influence and advance internal design efforts to improve product development processes and ensure carrier-class quality. Participate in industrial forums and standard bodies and represent CommScope objectives.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 8 years of experience OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 5 years of experience
  • Proven expertise of LTE or 5G technologies and standards
  • End to End knowledge of LTE or 5G system architecture, call flows and mobility procedures
  • Strong theoretical background in wireless communications.
  • Experience working on Layer 3 and Layer 2 in Radio Access Networks
You will excite us if you have:
  • Broad knowledge of systems engineering concepts, definition and analysis for requirements, performance, capacity, availability, reliability, scalability, etc.
  • Proficiency in mathematically analyzing complex problems and to proposing solutions for complex problem with considerations of performance, scalability, and correctness.
  • Expertise in simulation techniques and tools
  • Expertise in network protocols and architecting networking aspects of a carrier-class platform.
  • Experience in designing and developing large-scale systems.
  • Experience in analyzing and responding to market requirements, RFIs, etc.
  • Experience with system level testing and performance evaluation of wireless systems and familiarity with related tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and understand 3GPP 5G and LTE standard specifications

Anticipated compensation range: $130000 - $160000 dependent on candidate's work location, experience and qualifications
