AECOM's Water Infrastructure Team in Ireland has over 135 professionals operating from 5 locations across the island. We are seeking an experienced Design Delivery Lead to oversee delivery and growth of our Design-Build Contractor client base.

Working within a well-established group you will provide technical and commercial leadership to AECOMs multidisciplinary teams based on your strong track record in the water consultancy sector.

You will be confident in preparing fee proposals, instructing technical teams and verifying deliverables in a timely and effective manner to meet client expectations.

The preferred candidate will be well rounded and able to demonstrate strong project management skills, commercial acumen and technical leadership in line with AECOM core values.

You will be recognized by peers and clients as an effective Design Delivery Lead

Job Duties:

  • Drive a culture of optimal safety in design and construction.
  • Demonstrate strong team leadership skills.
  • Oversee a wide portfolio of permanent works designs for water infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project delivery, technical quality, contribute to projects and bids, and interface with clients and collaborators in design and planning.
  • Take ownership of key packages of work and see delivery through from conception to handover. Some of these projects will be large-scale and prestigious CV-builders.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for the team.
  • Mitigate and manage contract risk.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review, technical scrutiny, and verification of project deliverables.
  • Provide input into the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Have commercial awareness with experience in monitoring and control of engineering budgets.
  • Develop construction cost estimates.
  • Monitor key project performance indicators and ensure that project data is accurate and provided in a timely manner and communicated clearly and concisely.
  • Understand and implement best practice whilst seeking innovation and driving efficiency.
  • Mentor other staff in setting and developing career goals.
  • Achieve continual learning and professional development in area of expertise.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Be collaborative and work effectively with our Water engineering teams and discipline leads across Ireland, UK and Europe.
  • Attend site when required to inspect works and check effectiveness of designs.
Minimum Requirements

  • Extensive experience in water or a major civil engineering and construction area.
  • Have experience working within water and wastewater networks and treatment design.
  • Effective project management experience.
  • Be experienced working for contractors in a design and build environment.
  • Be experienced working in a digital delivery environment using BIM and 3D design tools.
  • Have industry recognized Health and Safety qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related engineering subject and/or a project management background.
  • Chartered with Engineers Ireland, ICE or CIWEM etc.
