Position Summary
The Profit Sharing Analyst is primarily responsible for profit sharing and match calculations, projections, proposals for potential clients, match true-ups, retro safe harbor calculations, plan aggregation calculations & safe harbor cost comparisons.
As such, the Profit Sharing Analyst applies advanced retirement plan knowledge to develop plan designs, draft proposals, create cost comparisons, and provide client consultations.
Essential FunctionsProvide expertise and consulting with the design, administration and communication of
annual employer profit sharing, matching, retro safe harbor, forfeiture and other employer contributions using data housed within company systems.
Collaborates closely with the plan analytics team to manage an assigned caseload of profit sharing projections/calculations, proposals, reports, and, if necessary, revisions.
With support, demonstrates strong project management skills to manage the assigned profit sharing caseload in a timely and efficient manner.
With minimal guidance, applies advanced retirement plan knowledge to prepare projections, perform calculations, and design cost comparisons including, but not limited to, cross-tested profiting sharing, matching, match true-ups, plan aggregation, and safe harbor.
Provides plan designs for clients using strategic plan analysis and cross testing applications. Applies advanced retirement plan knowledge to provide cost-effective plans that align with client goals.Demonstrates a consultative approach toward plan designs with the client and focuses on client satisfaction, communication, and client retention.
Develops proposals for potential clients highlighting benefits, such as cost savings and tax advantages, of the plan design.
Occasionally, performs client consultations via video conference or over-the-phone.
During consultations, ensuring clients are fully informed of plan limits, rules, regulations, requirements, testing principles, etc.
Remains up-to-date on acceptable formulas used for calculating 401(k) profit sharing calculations.
With support, participate in small to medium sized projects centered on department initiatives to increase efficiencies, decrease cost and document changes in processes and procedures.
Provide training and guidance for Profit Sharing Coordinators and Junior AnalystsPerform additional duties as requested
Qualifications
Skills & Abilities
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Excellent knowledge of ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy and 401(a)(4) non-discrimination testing
Meticulous attention to detail
High level of critical thinking
Analytical mindset with excellent computation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines
Ability to be innovative and seek out opportunities for operational efficiencies
Diligent follow-thru on core processes
Experience
2-3 years retirement plan industry experience.
3-5 years of client facing or customer support experience in the financial services industry.
1-3 years of advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
Education
Bachelors degree in business, accounting, finance or related field of study.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates & Licenses
ASPPA Retirement Plan Fundamentals (RPF) I within 6 months of hire
Completion of Slavic401k Compliance Certification course within 90-days of hiring with a final exam score of 70% or higher.
