We are seeking professionals who want to build on existing experience - preferably in audit, accounting, or independence compliance. You will use your knowledge to add value to Deloitte's quality assurance and risk-management practice; broaden and deepen your knowledge of independence rules; expand your network across functions and the globe; and develop relationships with a variety of Deloitte professionals, including Lead Client Service Partners, audit teams, and non-audit teams. As a Senior Manager in Engagement Consultation, you'll provide insight and guidance to our audit and non-audit teams and will have the opportunity to be part of the Deloitte's strategic priorities and goals within the risk-management function. You'll also be responsible for mentoring staff, providing them with developmental feedback, and career guidance.

Work You'll Do

As a Senior Manager in Engagement Consultation, you'll analyze, research, investigate and collaborate to:
  • Work closely with with Partners and Managing Directors within the Independence & Conflicts Network as well as with LCSPs, Professional Practice Directors, DTT Independence Directors, audit engagement teams, and cross functional and cross border teams on independence matters involving but not limited to the following:
    • Scope of service questions
    • Foreign and domestic services and service lines
    • Fee arrangements, such as contingent fees and commissions
    • Matters arising from client mergers and acquisitions
    • Analysis and education relating to affiliate relationships
    • Perform research and develop guidance to address emerging independence issues
    • Draft communications and provide education to increase awareness of the independence rules and implications of new and changing independence rules and standards
    • Interpret and implement new and existing regulations relating to permissible services for the Deloitte US entities, and provide advice and guidance to client-facing teams
    • Analyze and collaborate to revise the Deloitte US Entities' policies and training courses, reflecting both new rules and firm interpretations of existing rules and considering "live" consultations
    • Coach, mentor, and develop team members

    The Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN) Engagement Consultation team performs a critical consultative, quality-assurance, and risk-management function for the Deloitte US Firms, helping the organization remain unbiased and free from conflicts of interest, in fact and appearance, when providing services to attest/audit clients and their affiliates. Independence requirements are defined by specific sets of policies, external rules and regulations, so maintaining both the independence of the Deloitte US Firms and its professionals is essential to the business and reputation of Deloitte.

    Qualifications

    Required:
    • Bachelors' degree or equivalent
    • 8+ years of experience
    • Experience collaborating deeply across disciplines - audit, consulting, advisory, tax, technical groups, technology, research, user experience
    • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
    Preferred:
    • Experience in public accounting
    • CPA
    • Advanced knowledge of the independence rules as well as independence & compliance framework for professional auditing firms
    For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $104,575 to $139,435.
