DirectViz Solutions is a high-level, strategic consulting services firm that meets mission IT needs for government customers. We are hiring a Systems Engineer. This position is located in Alexandria, VA. and requires a US citizenship and a Public Trust investigation. This position is presently remote at the customers discretion.

Systems Engineer:

Responsible for dedicated support of specific business units for the client. This includes dedicated support of workstations management and configuration of SCCM, research, analysis, and selection of COTS solutions or designing custom solutions, analysis of security impact, definition of test plans, use/test cases and pilot testing the solution. This also includes specialized tasks such as VMWare configuration, Desktop Image configuration, and application packaging support. The candidate will work directly with the client and their contractors as well as with the team in a collaborative fashion to define solutions to meet the client's business needs. Will communicate with employees and contractors; displaying strong customer service skills, using professionalism, tact and diplomacy at all times in order to answer support calls; and coordinate with vendors on pickups, returns, and on-site repairs.

Qualifications:

- Masters and 8 years' experience or Bachelors and 11 years' experience or High School Diploma and 17 years' experience.

Required Skills:

-Minimum of 8 years' systems analyst/engineer experience

-Tier I/II support of IT equipment/business applications (Diagnosis/Remediation, Install, Configuration, Maintenance, Performance Anals/Tuning)

-Experience with requirements analyzing and developing software requirements

-Experience administering VMWare systems and creating virtual test systems

-Experience administering servers and remediating vulnerabilities

-Experience packaging applications for enterprise deployment using SCCM or similar tools

-Experience performing software testing using SCCM or similar tools

-Experience using Windows native API knowledge and PowerShell scripts

-Experience creating and deploying Desktop Images using SCCM or similar tools

-Knowledge of AD and LDAP

-Strong Technical writing and business communications skills

-Background working in Tier I/II support/systems analysis/quality assurance in an IT environment

Desired Skills:

-ITIL Service Management

-CRM/Ticketing Systems usage

-Knowledge of HSPD-12 implementation on Windows and Mac

-Knowledge of desktop based IT security

-Knowledge of Cloud back up tools/solutions

-Knowledge of USGCB configurations and policies

-Knowledge of SharePoint

-Mac or Mac Desktop administration

Responsibilities include:

-Tier I/II support of workstation, print, and business applications

-Windows Server administration

-Application packaging and testing for deployment to desktops

-Desktop image creation and validation

-Vulnerability remediation

-VMWare administration

-Facilitate the gathering in requirements including documentation of business and technical requirements and documentation of a requirements traceability matrix.

-Perform research and analysis of various COTS solutions to meet the requirements

-Performs architectural design for the solution including hardware, software, security, database, and data flow definition.

-Performs technical design of the solution including documentation of technical and architectural design and updating requirements traceability matrix.

-Performs analysis of security risks associated with the solution.

-Performs cost analysis of solution including costs for hardware, software, staff required to implement the solution.

-Responsible for synthesizing customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.

-Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.

-Coordinates integrated testing activities.

-Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program.

-Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

-Conducts software testing, verification and validation.

-Conducts unit, system, regression, performance, and UAT testing.

-Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract.

-Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.

-Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.

-Defines implementation plan and communicates will release management team to indicate readiness to transition to operations.

-Communicates release schedules to the client business units

-Defines/reviews training plan in coordination with the solution and implementation plan documents
