We are currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer who will lead the research, planning, designing, development, and documentation of mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies for Stand-in Attack Weapong (SiAW). This includes, but is not limited to, electronic components and assemblies, airframes, separation mechanisms, and more!

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering AND a minimum of five (5) years Mechanical and/or Electrical Design experience using CAD software OR a Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering AND a minimum of three (3) years Mechanical and/or Electrical Design experience using CAD software.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Gov't Secret clearance within a timeframe set forth by management; US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possession of a Secret or Interim Secret Clearance.
  • Certification as an Engineer-In-Training or attainment of a PE certification.
  • Familiarity with PTC Creo (7.0 is preferred) and Windchill.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and its associated standards.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5.
  • Familiarity with Quality practices and tools (FAIs, MRB, CMM, etc...)
  • Experience with CCA design and/or fabrication.
  • Experience with Machining (Mill, Lathe, Router, etc...)
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, etc...)
  • Experience with structural analysis using both hand-calculations and FEA software (Nastran, abacus, etc...)
  • Experience with cable design, fabrication, and inspection IAW IPC / WHMA-A-620 in addiction to connector selection.
  • Experience with Corrosion Prevention and pertinent standards (MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-881).
Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
