We are currently seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for Production Development to work with our talented Advanced Weapons team in Northridge, CA .

Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Northridge, CA. No hybrid/telework schedule is available for this position.

The ideal candidate will be supporting one of our Programs for analyzing, developing, and managing the system and subsystems requirements for our missile weapon system. This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects to leverage on existing technology as well as working with the program team to innovate system architecture to adapt to the industry and customer's needs.

In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):
  • Requirements definition for system architecture development and systems integration
  • Engaging with IPT members for development and operational lifecycle requirements
  • Perform system analysis, design, development, integration, end user interaction, component testing, and system validation/verification qualifications
  • Technical Lead to direct, coordinate, and review Systems Engineering activities at the subsystem level
  • Generate and maintain system requirements and performance specifications
  • Identify and track risks to technical execution
  • Conduct System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR)
  • Conduct analysis, perform trade studies, and develop technical recommendations
  • Coordinate engineering activities during system integration, test phases and production
  • Coordinate or develop and review customer and supplier Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • Develop Engineering Change Proposals
  • Develop Integrated Master Plans (IMPs)/Integrated Master Schedules (IMSs)
  • Develop and maintain configuration control for Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Change Notices (ICNs), technical manuals, technical specifications, and system/subsystem documentation for the customer/end user
This position can be filled as a Principal Systems Engineer (T03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (T04) level.

Basic Qualifications For Each Level Are Listed Below.

Basic qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer level (T03) are:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting a product from development into production lifecycles
  • Experience performing electronic diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematic diagrams
  • Experience with military in aircraft weapons release systems or weapon systems
  • Familiar with standards: UAI Platform-Store ICD, MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-810, and environmental system screening testing.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance within a reasonable time to perform job functions
  • Experience in requirements elicitation, systems integration and test
  • Must have proven experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management, and customers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion
  • Must have demonstrated experience in solving technical problems independently with minimal supervision
Basic qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer level (T04) are:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of five (9) years of experience supporting a product from development into production lifecycles
  • Experience performing electronic diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematic diagrams
  • Experience with military in aircraft weapons release systems or weapon systems
  • Familiar with standards: UAI Platform-Store ICD, MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-810, and environmental system screening testing.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance within a reasonable time to perform job functions
  • Experience in requirements elicitation, systems integration and test
  • Must have proven experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management, and customers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion

Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Electrical or Systems Engineering
  • Current active Secret clearance
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as IBM Rationale DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody
  • Experience in CMMI Level 3 processes
Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
