As a Controls Systems Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Develop, test, diagnose and modify programs for microprocessor-based manufacturing systems and quality analysis equipment. Write machine programs for programmable controllers (PLCs). Make program modifications and troubleshoot programs
Install troubleshoot, repair, modify, calibrate, and make adjustments to electrical/electronic system components and circuits used in measurement and control of current, voltage, temperature, humidity, speed, vacuum, pressure, tension, flow, time, frequency, thickness and density
Ensure availability of machine documentation and programs, and ensure that all documentation and programs are updated to reflect machine or program changes
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments using repair parts or correcting existing parts
Know and apply the operating principles, purpose, proper application and design limitations of electrical power distribution system components and elements. Includes the troubleshooting, testing, repair, replacement, adjustment, calibration and cleaning of the system and elements
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following
Qualifications:
Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from a accredited institution.
Currently possess or in the last seven (7) months of obtaining a two (2) year technical degree in an electrical control s maintenance field OR a minimum of two (2) years industrial electrical or industrial electronics experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Associates degree in an electrical or electronics discipline such as Automation Controls/SCADA or Robotics.
Experience diagnosing and repairing the following types of equipment in a manufacturing environment: Electrical Power Supply, Machine Control Devices, Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Interfaces (HMIs), Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems, Pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
PLC programming experience.
Comfortable working with low and medium voltage AC & DC electrical systems.
Travel: None required
