The MLS University Relations lead provides dedicated support to the enterprise MLS training and certification programs university relations, recruitment and employer branding strategy. In this role, the incumbent will be required to establish and build collaborative and influential partnerships with Lab Operation Leaders, HR Business Partners and Global Talent Management, to understand internal talent needs, clinical rotation schedules and rotation curriculum, and talent development opportunities. The incumbent will also be required to establish and build collaborative and influential partnerships with external MLS University Lab Directors, Clinical Coordinators, professional association leaders and MLS students across the US to secure partnership opportunities, maintain an on campus presence/ongoing student engagement and understand MLS market trends to address MLS staffing across the LabCorp enterprise.
Essential Job Duties
- Develop strategic partnership collaboration with target universities, including consistent engagement with Program Directors, Clinical Coordinators, professional association leaders and students to nurture relationships, be a point of contact for top talent students and establish Labcorp as partner of choice for clinical rotation sponsor.
- Lead MLS specific recruitment campaigns to engage target (science-degree) student populations to explore MLS programs and career paths. Stay current with trends in student engagement, technology platforms and tools, career services and academic program advisors.
- Plan, design and attend in person university, high school or middle school events, skill building workshops (i.e. resume writing, certification exam prep), classroom speaking opportunities, career panel talks, etc.
- Leads all logistics, facilitation and in-person needs for MLS-specific in-person and virtual events including but not limited to leadership communications - manage and select campus speakers, schedule and lead event prep calls, lead introductions during speaking engagements with students and execute end-of event actions/follow-up.
- Design and lead MLS Ambassador Program; including internal Med-Tech staff level trainings, toolkits creation (talking points, extern presentations, event and university partner communications, mentorship matches, etc.)
- Lead strategic university program research, in collaboration with MLS Program Director to select target partner academic programs, establish partnership success measures and ROI assessments
- In partnership with MLS Program Director, support onboarding for extern placements including submission of profile worker requests, and pre-placement/keep-warm strategies with students prior to rotational commencement.
- In Collaboration with MLS Program Director, Lab Directors, HRBP's and University Clinical Coordinators, execute clinical rotation 'match' via early offer and lead full-cycle recruitment process for onboard/program conversion.
- Participate in other projects/certification program-focused tasks as required
Education/Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Business Management, HR or related field
Experience:
- 3-5 years of university relations, university faculty/career services experience is required
- Experience/Knowledge of NAACLS certification, clinical lab sciences, or laboratory operations experience preferred.
- Experience working in a matrix preferred.
- Attention to detail, organization and follow-up skills are critical to this position.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
- Ability to build and manage effective relationships with company and external (i.e., university) personnel.
- Resourceful, creative and proactive. Results oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing work environment requiring a high degree of multi-tasking.
- Skilled in research of recruitment trends and competitive intelligence.
- Understanding of applicant tracking systems.
- Excellent interpersonal qualities, including problem solving and strong partnership skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong interactive media and computer skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Knowledge of Human Resources practices, laws and regulations in geographic areas of operation, especially related to recruiting
- Need to be flexible with working hours. ~ 25% travel, primarily travel to universities.
