Role

You will play a critical role in being our innovative and passionate senior technical quality customer engineer who oversees the testing strategy and tooling for Platform. You will actively participate in technical design, product, and architecture direction to influence testability and serviceability of our hybrid product strategy by working backwards from our customers' journey. You will work across teams and organizations to ensure that the architecture and design are of high quality, stable, scalable and reliable. You will establish the technical testing standards and drive the overall test tool design and best engineering practices through design reviews, architecture reviews, hackathon activities, customer visits and engagement with the entire engineering and product organization.

What you will do and expertise you will need to be successful
  • Will be a Sr. Principal Software Developer in Test engineer to support 1100+ engineers
  • Craft and execute the technical testing road map to develop the next generation hybrid cloud Application platform
  • Drive SAAS & Cloud testing and automation strategy for all of Platform
  • Strong advocate for Voice of the Customer and holistic Quality approach
  • Influence the integration of outstanding architecture principles and goals into the team's projects through designs, implementation strategies, and project sequence
  • Help grow, mentor, and shape engineering culture for engineering
  • Work with product managers and engineering leaders early on to craft testability and supportability of the product offerings and build testing capabilities that are flexible, extensible, and robust
  • Drive a culture of quality, technical curiosity, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • 10+ years of software development, including extensive large scale Back end and Front-end applications (Enterprise and single/multi-tenant Applications), and SDKs
  • Ability to do thorough architectural, design and code reviews
  • In-depth knowledge of test frameworks like pytest, Ginkgo, etc.
  • Strong Java, Go and/or Python programming skills
  • Knowledge of Jenkins, Hudson, or any other CI systems
  • Strong knowledge of linux systems, Docker, k8s
  • Experience building automation frameworks
  • Experience in incorporating customer use cases and telemetry data into testing
  • Hands on expertise in recruiting for top talent
  • In-depth understanding of application performance and work through high volume scalability issues
  • Prior experience with Splunk or a similar analytics solution
  • Experience in multi-year transformation initiatives and playing a critical role
Responsibilities
  • Own quality from product inception to release and be a customer advocate
  • Ensure the quality of test plans, test cases, test matrix, test coverage, and bug matrix
  • Lead SDET strategies transforming the SDET to DevOps Model
  • Collaborate cross functionally and lead overall SDET org as an IC
  • Help create and implement quality metrics, processes and requirements
  • Identify and communicate risk and bottlenecks in faster rollout of releases, products, features, etc
  • Oversee automation hygiene enforcing release criteria, data driven continuous improvement ensuring customer excellence
  • Coach and mentor other senior SDETs in the team
Qualifications

Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a technical bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a technical Master's degree; or a PhD with 6 years' experience; or equivalent experience.

The base pay for this position is dependent on work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for bonus and benefits, and may be eligible for equity.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range $ 212,000 - 291,500 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range $ 199,200 - 273,900 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range $ 188,000 - 258,500 per year
