The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for leading technical support of the application. The role will be implementing all aspects of the operating procedures/runbooks within a predefined shift pattern. This role is encouraged to work closely with the required development teams and our internal business clients to resolve technical support incidents where vital and connect with senior leadership.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform deep analysis to identify potential failure points and implement controls to mitigate future failures

  • Follow company ITIL processes by ensuring that incident, problem and change tickets are addressed in a timely fashion

  • Analyze application alert trends, providing business impact and analysis to teams while suggesting resolutions to minimize further occurrences

  • Review knowledge articles and operational procedures with application development teams to confirm information is up to date.

  • Collaborate with Client Facing teams and other application partners to provide answers to application issues and raise to as needed.

  • Review and finalize response to requests for information.

  • Review Disaster Recovery scripts to be implemented in response to planned and unplanned outages, ensuring appropriate steps are documented.

  • Recommend automation to reduce the cost of ongoing application monitoring

  • Recommend enhanced reporting to support teams to allow better clarity into potential issues and future outages.

  • Facilitate internal review and validation of support and resiliency Non-Functional Requirements during the development phase of an application as part of Application Support Center of Excellence.

  • Ensure all cert renewals/service account password changes are handled in a timely manner and ensure production defects and minor improvements completed.

  • Supervise the coordination of the pre-production/production application code deployments and end to end vendor application upgrade process.

Talents Needed For Success:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Additional Qualification:

  • Hand-on Experience in SQL/PLSQL, Unix, Linux

  • Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps toolchains and process

  • Scheduling tools such as Autosys, Control-M

  • Good Understanding of Shell Scripting, Python, Perl, JavaScript

  • Service Now, Jira and similar tools

  • Monitoring/Big data tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace is a plus

  • Experience in scripting language such as Bash, Python, Ruby

  • Passwords management and automation experience

  • knowledge in maintenance and support of AWS functionalities and services

  • basic knowledge of Mainframe processes is an added advantage
