In this role, you will support the efforts of our clients (cities, counties, regional authorities, state departments of transportation, transit agencies, and utilities) to secure federal and state funding for their critical projects. You will collaborate with diverse teams at Jacobs such as our federal grants experts, government relations team, transportation and water planners and engineers, economists, resiliency specialists, and many others to understand our clients' infrastructure projects and funding needs, and ultimately to develop competitive federal and state grant applications.

As an expert in federal or state infrastructure funding programs, you will work to understand our clients' capital projects and align them to available funding programs. You will develop federal and state funding strategies for clients, work to prioritize capital projects and will make recommendations on federal and state grant programs that offer the highest potential. You will also lead federal or state grant application efforts, working to hone a project narrative and manage a team of Jacobs professionals to deliver competitive funding proposals. This role will also support the team's business development efforts, helping to market our team's capabilities and communicate the team's experience and value to internal audiences as well as to prospective external clients.

Specific responsibilities that the Senior Infrastructure Funding and Grants Consultant is envisioned to have include the following:
  • Lead workshops and strategy sessions with clients on their infrastructure funding needs, offering strategic advice on grant pursuit strategies
  • Manage the development of grant applications for a range of federal or state funding programs by leading cross-disciplinary project teams to deliver competitive funding proposals on schedule and within budget
  • Coordinate with colleagues in Jacobs' Economics & Finance practice to integrate the role of grants into overall financial planning strategies that include bonding, taxes, fees and other funding sources for agencies of all sizes
  • Coordinate w/Sales teams/Client Account Managers in some specific geographies in the United States
  • Support mentoring and development of staff through on the job training
  • Lead the formation of inter-disciplinary teams and development scopes of work and budgets for client assignments for at least one primary sector of infrastructure (e.g., water/wastewater, transportation)
  • Lead development of business development supporting materials such as brochures and fact sheets for at least one sector of infrastructure and support development of these materials for other sectors.
Here's What You'll Need:
  • Deep understanding of federal or state infrastructure funding programs and track record of success across one or more of the following sectors: water, transportation, resilience, broadband, and/or renewable energy
  • Understanding of public sector capital planning processes
  • Federal or state grant administration requirements for one or more funding programs
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to draft report-length project narratives in a professional voice and style, free of spelling or grammatical errors
  • Ability to manage and work within interdisciplinary teams where the technical input from diverse disciplines need to be coordinated, often within short timeframes allowed by the grant agency submittal deadlines
  • Ability to distill key themes and compelling elements of a large infrastructure project and articulate them concisely for an unfamiliar reader
  • Master's degree and minimum of 5 years of professional experience required, with 8+ years preferred.

Typical salary range for this position is $92,100 to $220,100 , and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
