Job Description:

Bank of America's Global Commercial Bank (“GCB") is looking to add a Relationship Manager (“RM") in the Metro NY Market focused on a portfolio of Financial Institution (“FI") clients.

GCB provides a wide range of solutions to FI's globally including Global Treasury Services, Credit, Global Markets products, Capital Raising & Advisory Services, Wealth Management and Financial Life Benefits. 

The GCB FI portfolio consists primarily of securities firms, global hedge funds and alternative asset managers that are clients of BofA's Equities & Fixed Income Currency & Commodities (“FICC") businesses in Global Markets.  Others may be clients of the Global the Corporate & Investment Bank (“GCIB") and/or Merrill or the Private Bank.  Strong partnerships across Bank of America are crucial to succeeding in the role. 

The RM coordinates holistic coverage across GCB core solutions including treasury services and credit origination while delivering the full breadth of Bank of America in concert with business partners in Global Markets, Investment Banking and Wealth Management.  In addition to being the primary Bank advocate and key advisor to the client, the RM is accountable for deepening existing relationships at the CEO/CFO/Treasurer level.  

The RM will prepare for and conduct conversations regarding the client's distinct FI industry needs.  The RM will assess risks and impacts from both the client's and the Bank's perspectives for development and implementation of an overall client strategy. The RM must be well versed in all Bank of America solutions and services for identification of cross-selling opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Relationship management of a client portfolio of traditional and alternative asset managers, global hedge funds, and other financial market participants
  • Lead team in preparation of client meetings to deliver full breadth of solutions and identify/execute cross-sell opportunities
  • Work closely with partners across lines of business and regions to deliver international capabilities
  • Ownership for ensuring accuracy of client profitability reporting
  • Partner with Sales Support for completion of AML/KYC due diligence requirements
  • Take active role in initiatives to contribute to operational excellence opportunities

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA desirable 
  • Strong understanding of financial markets
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses or ability to obtain within 180 days of start date
  • Broad based commercial lending/corporate finance/relationship management experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills including planning, execution and follow up

Desired:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a large and complex GCB portfolio of clients
  • Knowledge of FI sector across verticals including global traditional and alternative asset managers
  • Knowledge of treasury objectives and solutions a plus
  • Global Markets product knowledge and internal network across businesses including Prime Brokerage, Equities Distribution, Short Term Fixed Income, Financing & Futures, and other FICC desks
  • Familiarity with AML/KYC controls and processes for highly complex legal entity structures
