This position is an individual contributor senior lead professional and widely recognized leading expert in Employee and Labor relations who oversees the development and implementation of new employee and labor relations programs, provides oversight to the development and implementation of documents in support of the employee experience, represents the organization on labor relations matters, and strategizes long-term projects to focus on positive employee relations initiatives.


This position can be worked remotely or from any Collins Aerospace location in the U.S.


  • Advises on contract negotiation, grievance cases, arbitrations, conciliations and federal and state labor legislation. Represents management in collective bargaining with unions representing company employees; provides counsel and assistance to management.


  • Consults with other human resources managers and executive management to provide guidance on personnel policy such as wages, benefits, pensions and work rules and practices.


  • Oversees the development and implementation of new employee and labor relations programs and policies.


  • Oversees labor relations matters in addressing complex and comprehensive disputes in the event an employee is dissatisfied with or a grievance is not resolved through grievance proceedings.


  • Creates new and innovative solutions for information regarding positive employee relations and employee advocacy. Strategizes long-term projects to focus on employee and labor relations projects and initiatives.


  • Oversees the development and implementation of counter-proposal language used in the development of collective bargaining agreements and in response to labor grievances.


  • Provides coaching and leadership to new employee relations and labor relations partners on addressing employee disputes, investigations, and maintaining a positive work environment.


  • Consults HR executive management as needed for information on talent management, total rewards and other HR policies and programs that is used to inform decision making during labor contract negotiations and grievance procedures.


  • Administers and maintains compliance policies.


  • Oversees management and implementation of labor policy.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 14 years of prior relevant experience OR


  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience OR


  • In absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience is Required


  • Must be willing to travel up to 35%


  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience setting operational strategies and plans with direct impact on results.


  • Ability to develop and effectively leverage relationships across HR and within the business unit


  • Ability to coach, consult and influence leaders regarding the importance of good “people” practices and the links to business success; ability to conduct effective presentations, facilitate meetings


  • Ability to be approachable and empathetic to employee needs


  • Experience with conflict resolution in the work environment and mediating between parties
