What you will do
As an IT Architect & Engineer, the successful candidate will plan, architect & build End User technology services, specifically related to endpoint computing devices (PC's, Tablets, Phones, wearables, IOT…) and will play a key role in idea generation & selection of services & technologies used to manage & support endpoints. Development of standards, processes and governance of endpoint management services will be expected. This individual will function as part of the Unified Endpoint Management team within the Digital Workplace team within the Global Operations & Technology team managing IT infrastructure at Johnson Controls.
This role has responsibility for establishing, validating and maintaining service definitions, technology infrastructure specifications, implementation & use standards, processes, roadmaps and lifecycles for services and technologies provided for endpoint computing devices,
How you will do it
Hands on analysis of industry standards & trends, design of new services. Research new technologies, services, operating models and application technologies to assist in direction setting and roadmap planning.
Lead requirements gathering, specification, design, build and implementation activities for endpoint management services & technologies.
Manage the technology life cycle and maintain a life cycle matrix identifying current standards and future technology directions.
Develop, document and present business cases and financial justification for selected services and technologies. Represent the business case and value proposition of selected technologies in business case and technical reviews.
Manage architectural development and standards setting process for Endpoint management infrastructure environments.
Plan & build Endpoint management services with complete service definition to enable operational launch and handoff to operations teams.
Review & revise existing service definitions to deliver continuous improvement. Conduct KPI analysis.
What we look for:
Required
7-10 years enterprise IT experience in a technical role
5+ years of endpoint computing service analysis, design and architecture
Demonstrated success delivering design-ready, complex architectures
PC & OS Lifecycle Management (Microsoft, Apple, Google)
Microsoft 365 Enterprise + Modern Management (Autopilot, Windows-as-a-Service, Windows Update for Business, M365 Analytics, Delivery Optimization, O365 ProPlus)
Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune, SCCM, hybrid/co-management, task sequence
Apple device management (macOS, iOS, JAMF) Enterprise Mobility Management (MDM & MAM) - must have Intune experience Hyper-V, Windows Virtual Desktop, W365)
Virtualization - client, application, user state and server technologies (Citrix, VMWare, Hyper-V, Windows Virtual Desktop, W365)
Strong experience with complete line of enterprise class endpoints.
Ability to communicate technical information and ideas to diverse audiences
Self-starter with the ability to develop new services, complex technology architectures and business justification, and supervise their application and use
A proven track record of interaction with diverse technical staff and resources in multiple projects through all life-cycle phases
US Citizenship is required.
Preferred
BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field is desirable
Experience of Identity & network technologies desirable
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Familiarity with ITIL practices and the ITIL Service life cycle
