The CAS Sr Technology Manager will support the Global Trade (GT) program and technology management activities across the business unit. These responsibilities include reviewing and implementing GT policies and procedures across CAS. This is an individual contributor role that drives change and results collaborating across multiple business and functions leaders, especially with the engineering function.

The role's primary focus is developing the J/C and HTS classifier network by providing training, mentoring, and executing transactional testing. Additionally, the Sr Technology Manager will be responsible for GT Compliance across multiple jurisdictions which includes management of technical data processes and associated digital tools. This position will report into the CAS GT Director.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) J/C and HTS classifier in tangible and intangible items
  • Establishes business processes for Information Systems Global Trade Assessments of our digital applications and tools
  • This responsibility aligns any complex individual requests and/or transfers from classifiers, and performs verifications, reclassifications as well as addresses any regulatory changes.
  • Providing technology management support to the different business portfolios and functional groups
  • Proactively identifying processes in need of item classifications and supporting the classification determination of the items in the classification repository databases (Primarily for intangible items, tech data, software, and services)
  • Support projects arising out of regulatory changes
  • Perform transactional testing
  • Develop classification training and standard work for related Technology Management processes within CAS
  • Key GT procedure implementation on Tech Management, Tech Data Marking and Digital tools solutions
  • Lead other GT projects as required
Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • English proficiency level: fluent. The candidate must be able to stand alone in business conversations and providing training.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to influence and lead across multiple functions and organizational levels
  • Project Management experience
  • Continuous Improvement
  • A working knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR - 15 CFR) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
  • A self-starter with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to learn and utilize many different application tools (SAP, SharePoint, SmartSheet, Office 365, Excel, OCR EASE, Salesforce, MKDenial, TEXPORT, xClass, etc)
  • Demonstrated program/product knowledge and general knowledge of technology transfer requirements and restrictions.
  • A background in software development and similar technology
