Essential Functions:
  • Acts as a trusted legal advisor to IDT's Regulatory and Quality Affairs, Business Units, and Supply Chain functions.
  • Advises on all areas of law affecting IDT, with a goal of minimizing risks and proposing practical solutions that promote business development and growth.
  • Negotiates, drafts, and reviews significant technology and business transactions.
  • Conducts internal compliance investigations, as needed.
  • Supports Regulatory Affairs to drive strategic discussions and decisions about the changing legal and regulatory landscape for genomic medicine.
  • Develops and maintains a solid understanding of various business processes and policies and supports enterprise risk management activities, with the ability to effectively evaluate legal exposure, manage risk, and achieve business goals within appropriate legal guidelines.
  • Exhibits excellent communication and time management skills, with a focus on pragmatic decision-making and efficient delivery of legal advice in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Possesses working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy laws and regulations.
  • Provides strategic advice and risk assessments related to licensing and other complex commercial transactions.
  • Collaborates with administrative staff and paralegals to contribute to a high-performance legal team.
  • Enables others to be successful and manages global service providers to provide back-office support where necessary.
  • Exhibits judicious communication and time management skills, with a focus on pragmatic decision-making and efficient delivery of legal advice in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values.

Education:
  • Doctorate of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from a top tier law school required.
  • Member in good standing of the bar of any US state required.
  • Participating in continuing legal education (through membership in the State and local Bar Associations and ongoing reading of legal periodicals and attendance at seminars) required.

Professional Experience:
  • 7 years of experience at top tier law firm or life sciences company, with experience providing advice and transactional support on licensing, healthcare regulations, and/or manufacturing and supply chain in highly regulated environments.
  • Experience resolving conflict between groups with opposing perspectives, agendas or priorities required.
  • Other Job Qualifications:
  • Excellent analytical research and precision documentation writing skills.
  • Ability to handle long-term and/or complex legal projects with significant financial or other business impact.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and judgment with the ability to interact with all levels of professionals in the organization and deliver effective client presentations.
  • Ability to manage fast-paced workload and add value to multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management through MS Office and other software tools.
  • Adaptability to perform under stress when confronted with emergent, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations.
  • Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Ability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers.

Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) conducts drug screens and background checks on applicants who accept employment offers.

The salary range for this role is $160-$165K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
