Department Overview
As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.

Position Summary
Drive project from discovery, pre-initiation, initiation to closure phases with smooth handoff to operations teams. Organize project work into Phases and Work streams. Establish required project governance structure. Track and report status on entire project, individual phases, individual work streams, milestones, resource utilization and project finances. Responsible for presenting to executives, sponsors, business leadership team. Proficient in various PM Methodologies and able to adapt based on project needs. Maintain all project artifacts, create project dashboards. Effective meeting facilitation skills (Clear Agenda with outcome, next steps, publishing Minutes, track actions etc.). Collaborate with different teams & various teams and build working relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • 25% As a senior member of ITS PMO, applies advanced technical project management concepts with clear understanding of project management practices and IT policies and procedures to manage complex projects. Implements the project management process for Pension Administration System in collaboration with diverse departmental or cross-functional teams.
  • 25% Initiates, designs and leads RFIs, RFP, as required. Has overall project management responsibility. May lead a team of junior technical project management professionals.
  • 25% Assembles and directs large project teams, develops detailed project plans and schedules and monitors budget and resources. Directs project activities with the goal of completing the project on schedule and within budget constraints. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
  • 25% Oversees the project from initiation through delivery including system integration, project and campus, medical center or Office of the President communications, interaction with vendors and managing risk, maintaining artifacts and reporting following PMO standards and best practices.


Experience
Required Qualifications
  • Min 8 years of experience in project management.

Skills and Abilities
Required Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of PM methodologies (Watefall, Agile/Scrum).
  • Highly advanced skills associated wih end to end PMLC for programs/projects of large-scale scope.
  • Demonstrated project leadership, reporting and management skills.
  • Demonstrated effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to present/communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to deliver projects timely within budget and defined scope.
  • Demonstrated complex problem- solving skills with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity.
  • Prior experience in successful delivery of large scale transformation program.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in higher education.

Full Salary Range:
$101,300 - $192,300

The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
